BIOGRAPHY
Born Oberhausen, Germany, 1968
Klaus is a German born artist who migrated to Australia in 1998. His life as an artist began in early childhood, with a love for painting, drawing, and modelling clay. Although his path to become a professional artist had a few detours, his passion for creating continued unerringly. At the beginning of his art studies Klaus re-discovered a fascination for clay, and continues to revel in working with this medium.
His current work reflects upon the relationship between humankind, culture and nature, and explores the historical and traditional attitudes towards nature and their relevance to our contemporary society. His work is often inspired by early European porcelain and the rich decorative styles of the Baroque and Rococo era.
